The Good Wife's Guide

Well, I came across the following image a while ago and was reminded of it when I came across it again today. Pretty interesting to see how things have changed over the last 50 years! It was also a good reminder because I had forgotten that catering to Micah's comfort will provide me with "immense personal satisfaction" and that his topics of conversation are more important than mine. I have a feeling that an article like this now would not be very well received....by women anyway.

First Anniversay

Well, yesterday Micah and I celebrated our one year anniversary. Woohoo! One whole year of being married...I think we have this whole marriage thing down! We ate our cake topper (surprisingly not bad) and I broke out my wedding dress. Here's a picture Micah took of me in my cool designer shades (Dollar General - $3).

We didn't do a lot for our anniversary yesterday because we really celebrated last month before he started summer school, and I have to brag on Micah because he did a great job planning it. We spent the weekend at the newly renovated Skirvin hotel downtown which was beautiful. He took me to get a spa pedicure, we both got massages, and then he took me out to eat at this really nice fondue restaurant wearing a new sundress that he bought me. After dinner we visited the Oklahoma Museum of Art where we saw the exibits and then visited the rooftop where they were showing old movies. The next day we visited the OKC Botanical gardens and the went back to some of our favorite places and restaurants on campus at OU and around Norman. That night he took me back to the reatreat center where we got engaged and we built a bonfire and made smores. All in all, pretty awesome.

Element

So, until last week, Micah had been driving the newest car he's ever owned: a '91 Honda Civic. It's been a good little car for us, but after no air conditioning and a busted head gasket (I have no idea what that really is), we decided it was time for an upgrade. So last weekend Micah went from this...
To this...
This thing has great gas mileage, XM radio, lots of leg room, and rubber floors so you can hose it out. It has water-proof seats, which fold up to the side, down to make a full flat bed, or come all the way out to make room for cargo. It sits high like a truck, but drives as smooth as a car. It pretty much won us over. He looks really good driving it and Mattie likes it a lot too.
Soon to come are larger tires and rims, a front grill, side steps, and a roof rack. He's currently taking votes for a new nickname for his car. Options include The Green Lantern, The Hulk, and Kermit. Feel free to let him know what you think.

Father's Day Weekend

Well, this weekend Micah, Mattie and I travelled down to Mansfield to hang out with my Dad for Father's Day. To celebrate, we went to one of the Fort Worth Symphony's Concerts in the Garden featuring a Beatles impersonation band called the "Fab Four". These guys looked, talked, and sang just like the Beatles and I have to say the concert was awesome.

I'm pretty sure Micah and I were among the youngest people there and it was fun to look around and see everyone else bobbing their heads and singing along with every word. If you look close at the picture below you can actually see people dancing in the street.
And of course, we all had to get our cell phones out for "Hey Jude."

Needless to say, we had a good time.

New Bloggers

So Micah and I have decided it's time to enter the wonderful world of blogging. We're new at this so cut us some slack if our template is a little boring, our link lists a bit short, and our about me section practically nonexistent. I'd like to think that we're quick learners so I'm sure this thing will be up and running in no time. So in the mean time "Here's lookin' at you, kid." (Micah told me to put that).
